February 2026 This month covered three active projects. The majority of hours went into MailTrace, focusing on access control, dashboards, email workflows, and release quality. HOWRU kicked off with a prototype and team meeting.

  • Pushed a live update to the test environment and confirmed successful login and user management improvements
  • Restored the domain filter on the dashboard that had been hidden due to an earlier error
  • Updated default DMARC report emails (RUA and RUF) to the correct CloudNow addresses
  • Investigated and resolved a domain deletion error affecting several configurations
  • Fixed a role sync bug where role changes in User Assignments were not reflecting in User Invitations
  • Clarified invitation deletion behaviour: soft-delete kept to preserve data integrity across related records
  • Planned Microsoft Graph integration for sending invitation emails directly from the platform
  • Added a temporary dev tools panel to support faster account switching during testing

  • Fixed Role column layout in User Management that displayed differently depending on the logged-in role type
  • Fixed dashboard data not filtering by domain for Domain Admin, Domain Reader, and Sys Reader accounts
  • Fixed SPF vs DKIM chart showing both values as Fail and removed the grey background colour
  • Fixed colour inconsistencies in the Reporting Organisations chart and changed date labels to Month-Day format

  • Implemented Microsoft Graph email integration for the invitation workflow
  • Set up the sender email address using the existing CloudNow tenant credentials
  • Completed signup and forgot password email flows and added config to the server environment

7hrAudit Logs and UI Cleanup
  • Expanded audit log to cover user-related events including invitations, deletions, and permission changes
  • Removed deleted domains from filters while keeping their historical activity in the log
  • Simplified the invitation copy UI to show only the sign-up link and removed the token-only option
  • Updated the invitation UI header to read Invitation Link with a copy function
  • Changed footer branding text to by CloudNow
  • Started work on root admin role and light/dark mode, found scope larger than expected across the codebase

  • Continued implementing the new root admin role across the platform
  • Worked on light/dark mode implementation which touched many files across the codebase
  • Flagged to Michael that the scope needed 2-3 more days to complete properly

  • Completed root admin role additions and adjustments across the platform
  • Finalised theme fix and added seed mock data for testing
  • Pushed live, fixed a config page error that appeared post-deploy, and confirmed everything working

  • Updated configuration page title to Email Deliverability Monitoring Configuration with a matching subtitle
  • Added SPF and IP Reputation as placeholder tabs alongside DMARC on the configuration page

  • Discussed Node.js upgrade path with Michael, agreed to move to v24 LTS
  • Aligned on release workflow strategy with separate production, development, and test environments

  • Set up the release workflow and deployed the test environment to a new Azure resource
  • Resolved a DB connection issue caused by a server name typo in the test environment config
  • Fixed login credentials sync between dev and test environments
  • Fixed dark text colour on notification and login page messages in dark mode

  • Fixed invitation deletion to also remove the user from the users database and User Assignment UI, while keeping the audit log intact
  • Fixed a layout alignment issue in the domain assignment panel where the right side appeared shorter for some users
  • Added light mode support to the auth page and fixed toast message colour so it is readable across all themes
  • Pushed all fixes live

  • Imported Michael's CSV data into the test deployment
  • Fixed DMARC policy config bug where Forensic Report selection was resetting to 0 after saving
  • Fixed percentage value not appearing in the DMARC record when set to 100%
  • Standardised filter options across all dashboard charts and tables to use the same date range options
  • Fixed filter dropdown resizing when selecting Last 6 months
  • Added colour coding to UI tables using green, red, and orange for clearer status display
  • Pushed all fixes live

  • Traced dashboard email count discrepancy to the default per-chart 30-day filter and confirmed the full dataset was intact
  • Started planning a dashboard layout redesign on the dev branch, scoping a global time filter to replace the individual per-chart filters
  • Reviewed Michael's threat classification and scoring model to plan the Threat Detection table redesign

  • Called with Michael to align on Threat Detection table: replace disposition with classification, add hover tooltips with threat descriptions, and use the scoring and confidence models
  • Set up Jest testing infrastructure with 8 test files covering RBAC, auth, API validation, error handling, and database
  • Added ESLint and Prettier configuration for consistent code style across the project
  • Implemented API request validation using Zod schemas across all endpoints
  • Built centralised error handling and structured logging for API routes
  • Added CI/CD quality gates: lint, type-check, and test steps now run before every build and deploy
